Vestavia Hills Recruitment Video

Vestavia Hills High School, Vestavia Hills, Alabama

Description

We created a video that would allow the opportunity to share sights and sounds of the band program as well as provide an glimpse into philosophy of the teacher leaders. We wanted out incoming students not only to see what we do but to feel our passion as well.

Target Audience

This project was mostly targeted toward incoming freshmen and anyone who would be new to our school/band program in general.

Costs

Fortunately we had a parent who works in media marketing and we pulled resources from within our parent community. We have learned over the years that all you have to do is ask and most of the time we can find willing volunteers to supply our needs.

Success/Effectiveness Measurement

We can measure the effectiveness of our project by most of our students who can now say…”although marching band is the most visual part of our program, concert band is the core of our program”. Going forward we should survey incoming freshmen students and parents to see if we can gather other bits of information we have communicated through our video.

Advice for others?

Don’t be afraid to ask your parent base for help with these type projects. Also with the availability of modern technology, even students may have the ability to create video with similar quality.
